Caribou 12U Baseball Invitational

On the brand new little league diamond, Camp Caribou hosted their annual 12U Baseball Invitational today.    Caribou Grey and Camp Androscoggin both battled to get to the championship game.  In that final game, Caribou jumped to a massive start scoring ten runs in the first inning, BOUYAH!  However, Andro was not going away quietly, as they scratched and clawed throughout the 6 inning game.  But with timely hitting of Jacob Savitz, the shut down pitching of Will Dubin, and the flawless defense of Nate Sherman, Caribou came out victorious, 10-9!!  Congratulations to all the Caribou guys who competed in today's tournament.  They displayed great passion, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

FIFA Day

The peninsula was rocking today as campers strapped on their cleats for the annual Caribou Fifa Day!  20 countries were represented in this day long soccer tournament.  Through out the day campers competed in array of soccer matches, skills competitions,  and obstacle courses.  The competition was great, the atmosphere was electric, and everyone displayed great sportsmanship!  In the end, Russia was crowned Fifa Day Champs in the Senior Division.  And Brazil took home the Cup in the Junior Division!

David Jack, one of the top 50 best trainers in the US, came up to camp to put Caribou staff though a dynamic bonding workout.

    Renowned child psychologist, Michael Thompson, works at Belmont Hill School and this week spoke to Caribou staff about working with boys at summer camp. Michael has written awesome camp related books such as Homesick and Happy, Raising Cain and Best Friends, Worst Enemies.
